White Wedding Cakes

Weddings are a reflection of the couple's personality. Most of the decisions a couple makes about: venue, color scheme, attire, or cake, are based on the budget first, then personality a close second.

Today, I'm sharing  white wedding cakes. Cakes that are probably for a couple that like a clean and minimalistic look.

These cakes are big on texture and with little to no color at all. They are chic and understated.

Take are look...

Wedding Cake - It's Personal

Wedding cakes have become more personal. We are seeing more creative custom designs and flavors. It's so exciting. Not only is it the shape or the idea of the cake that's changing, it's the flavor of the cake as well. Gone are the brandy heavy fruit cakes of the past. You've got all kinds of flavors now!

To be honest, I love how almost everything, actually EVERYTHING in, or about your wedding can be customized to suit your tastes and personality.

Check out these non-traditional wedding cakes I found:

Common Elements

Hi dolls. Today's blog post is about how you can highlight / repeat a wedding element or wedding theme through-out your wedding. Great ways to incorporate them is in your: stationery, linens, cake, and even your veil. I created these boards to show you veils that tie in nicely to a similar design theme in wedding cakes. Be creative and have fun with it :)

Naked Cakes...Ooh la la!

I have a confession to make. I'm a scrapper. I scrape off icing from a piece of cake, glaze from doughnuts, and frosting on cupcakes. I've been this way ever-since I was a little kid. Icing, frosting, and glaze are too sweet for me:( I love looking at icing and frosting on cakes, but I can't handle the sweetness. The best I can do is whipped cream.
I don't feel as guilty as I used to about not enjoying icing and frosting like others do. When I first saw the naked cake trend, I was delighted. It confirmed to me that I was not alone. There are probably many people out there that are just like me. Scrappers just like me!!! Why else would this trend take off? Anyway, I love the naked cake idea not just because I'm a scrapper. It's such an innovative idea for a wedding cake.
If you're thinking of this trend for your own wedding, I say go for it! I would like to believe it would be an affordable option since there's not much decorating and icing detail work for your cake-maker to do. The key to pulling off a magnificent naked cake are the decorations that end up on the cake. Most naked cakes are decorated with flowers, fruits, and unique cake toppers. In some instances, the filling acts as decoration too!

Naked never looked so good:

Wedding Cake!

I love wedding cakes. They are an easy way to express the couples wedding theme and personality. A cake's flavor and overall design says so much about the bride and groom. Sometimes a couple has so much personality that they have a groom's cake too! Have fun with this traditional wedding element; be creative!
Now, if you're thinking you can decide on a wedding cake flavor that will please your 150+ guests, forget it! That's impossible. What you need to do is choose a flavor you love first and foremost. No matter how hard you think you can, you will not decide on a flavor that all your 150+ guests will love. Therefore, the easiest people to please, are yourselves. After all, guests never attend a wedding hoping that the cake is in their favorite flavor. They expect  the element of surprise. They expect the element of you. If it really matters to you to cater to a variety of preferences, consider a dessert buffet table with common sweet treats such as: various cupcakes, macaroons, eclairs, tarts, pies, ice-cream, and even candy.

Here are cake inspiration boards I put together for you all. Oh, how I love cake :):

Hey There, Cupcake!

My sweet-tooth is my biggest weakness. I love, love, love dessert. Some people may be fed-up of cupcakes at weddings but I love 'em! I think it doesn't matter whether you're having a traditional classic wedding cake or cupcakes at your wedding. It's your wedding and you can do whatever you like. I like cupcakes; so cupcakes, are fine by me :)
If you think cupcakes are tacky, think again. Here are lovely shots of cupcakes at weddings:

Sweet, sweet, decisions

Whilst planning my wedding in 2009, I spent countless hours on wedding blogs. The first site I logged on to, and the last site I logged on to, was a wedding site. I would click through hundreds of pages searching for the perfect inspiration. After I'd make up my mind on the color scheme and the cake design, I'd see something else that made me change my mind or abandon my plan altogether and start afresh! Arrgghhh...it was sweet sweet sweet frustration.

Talking about sweet, here are some lovely wedding cakes I just had to share with you for your inspiration:
