Wedding Details - Fruit

It's always exciting to see how wedding stylists/planners/designers style centerpieces and place settings. They come up with the neatest and coolest ideas.

Every year brings something new to the industry...something trendy or completely unique. Remember when mason jars were the IT item!? Every other wedding had a mason jar, clear glass or painted up. Loved that trend! However, trends die and we look for the next great creative idea.

One design element that I will never tire of, is fruit. Fruit creatively used throughout the wedding is timeless to me.

Check out some of these fruity ideas:

Vendor Love: The First Snow

Happy Monday my loves. Today I want to talk about a vendor whose work I absolutely love. She's called Darah and she is the owner/designer behind The First Snow. She hand-makes wedding stationery from: cake toppers, invites, thank you cards, table numbers, welcome signs, and a whole lot more. She even has everyday home or office decor posters / signs.

I first came across Darah's work on Pinterest (thank God for Pinterest) and I immediately fell in love with her work. The artwork I first spotted on Pinterest and had to have was her Here Comes The Bride sign (pic of it below) and contacted her right away. I needed the sign for my 2013 collection shoot and I bought if from her Etsy shop. She was kind enough to ship it to me with enough time to spare as I had contacted her with a rush order request. The sign is hanging in my office right now. She's super sweet and absolutely talented. You must check out her work and like her Facebook page.

So my darlings, this is the work of Darah from The First Snow. All the images are sourced from Darah's Etsy shop.

I Make It Come True

Every now and then, I get requests for custom pieces from brides. A bride shares her vision with me and I bring it to life. Some requests are simple, but others really push my skills as a designer. Recently, I had the pleasure of working on a creation that I just shipped out to a bride in Chicago. She wanted a headpiece that would be simple but elegant. The only condition I had was to make sure it had sparkle and glam factor.

After narrowing down the different elements she liked, we settled on a headpiece that had a bit of everything: an ostrich feather, goose feathers, dupioni silk (similar to the fabric on her dress), sparkle, tulle and birdcage netting. I am happy to report that she loved it! It's important to me that I get it right for my brides. It's my job.

Here is the stunning headpiece:
