Royal Wedding - Kate's Look

Kate looked stunning in her Sarah Burton creation. The dress had incredible detail and the lace bodice and sleeves were just the perfect punctuation to a grand a-line ball gown. The skirt was not too full so as to overwhelm Kate. At first I was a little disappointed she wasn't in a slim fitting gown but after looking at her and seeing her whole look put together, I realized that it worked. I loved it! Her dress was a perfect combination of contemporary style and classic Victorian style. She looked just like a Princess. Her gown was so similar in style and elegance to Grace Kelly's. The lace bodice and sleeves. I have never seen pleats work so well and on Kate's gown they did.

Her veil was perfect for the dress. A one tier chapel length veil with minimalistic lace detail; a perfect choice. When your dress is as detailed and as grand a statement piece, you want to choose a simple veil. The elegant simple 'halo' tiara that she wore was just perfect. The only jewelry or bling she had on where the lovely pear shaped drop earrings designed by Robinson Pelham and the Queen's 'halo' tiara. Everything worked so well together. Ivory is so lovely.  Her bouquet was also kept simple, 'lillies of the valley' and 'sweet William'  and hyacinth flowers.

If your wedding dress is simple, do the opposite; go for a statement headpiece or jewelry. There are so many choices and options for veils and headpieces nowadays...let the elements you pick compliment and balance each other.
