Love is Love - Same Sex Weddings

As we wrap up Pride Month I am filled with warm and fuzzy feelings of joy at how far we've come at accepting all forms of love, relationships, and families.

As a little girl, I always believed love is blind. As a grown woman, I continue to believe that love is blind. Love does not see gender, race, fault, or creed. We are all free to love whomever chooses to love us back.

Here are some of my favorite same sex wedding images that make me giddy with joy.

Fear and Dread

On June 13th, 2021, I worked with an incredible team on my Posh Veils 2022 collection. It was a busy day. The shoot ran from 6:00am to 4:00pm. Yup, it was a really long and busy day!

That morning, I woke up at 4:00am to go over my checklist for the day. As I was about to brush my teeth, I felt dread and fear. I was overwhelmed with thoughts of, what if this doesn't work, and what if that doesn't work. I quickly took control and had a 15 minute self-pep-talk in front of the mirror. 15 minutes you may exclaim, well, yeah...it had been 7 years since I had created a collection and organized a collection shoot. I was nervous. I felt incapable. I felt really, really out of my element.

As I stood there with only two hours before the shoot, I thought back to what I knew would give me confidence; my veils. I had been sewing and working long hours to create new silhouettes and designs for months, and I knew I had a killer collection. I knew that I had put in the work. I had prayed about my return to the industry after having take time away to find my inspiration again. I knew everything was ready. There was nothing to truly fear that morning. So, I quickly got it together and began feeling excited about the shoot again.

My sister Lindiwe had come down from Bowmanville to be my assistant for the day. My husband cleared his schedule and offered to be at my beck and call all day; and he was. My husband and sister were the pillars on which I leaned on during the shoot. I can never repay them for their love and generosity of time.

The team of vendors I worked with were professional, pleasant, and a supper talented bunch of people! The shoot went smoothly and we managed to beautifully capture the 40 pieces in this collection. I cannot wait to share what we created with all of you.

Even though I experienced fear and dread, I'm happy to say, I'm back baby!!!!!!!!! In the coming weeks, I will share more of the new and revitalized Posh Veils brand. Stay tuned darlings.
